I Can't Wait to See this Movie...

I had seen a movie poster for "The Odd Life of Timothy Green" a few weeks ago. I wasn't sure what it was about so I didn't give it much thought. But I saw the trailer this afternoon and now I can't stop thinking about it.

As with many "heart-warming films" these days, the producers and distributors are trying to work alongside family (and even Christian) organizations to promote their films. Anything to generate buzz and sell more tickets. In this case, The National Fatherhood Initiative is supporting "Timothy Green" for the strong and powerful parenting themes found in the movie.

While I haven't seen the movie (it releases on August 15), I am already in love with it. Yes, it's sugary sweet. Yes, it's heavy-handed in its efforts to pull on your heart-strings. But in the ministry calling I have surrendered my life to, I know that parents are always in the need for inspiration. It looks like "Timothy Green" just might do the trick. Again, I haven't seen the movie yet, but I am certainly hopeful.

I encourage you to visit the Odd Life of Timothy Green page at the National Fatherhood Initiative's site. They give a little more detail and promise to provide more resources related to the movie in the coming days. Or just check out the trailer. Looks pretty good to me...
