Do you love golf? How about a golf trip with like-minded men?
The G.O.L.D. (Golfers of Little Distinction) Cup is a 4-day, fully handicapped tournament on four different courses in Fairfield Glade, TN on April 24-27, 2025. Whether you are a scratch golfer or a 30+ handicap, you will be able to compete AND connect with other men seeking God’s best for their lives. To be clear: golfers of all skill levels are invited.
Golf at Fairfield Glade is outstanding. Two of the four courses we will play (Stonehenge and Heatherhurst Crag), were voted in the top ten public courses in Tennessee last year. The other two are a part of the same club, so they're all in great shape, with some of the nicest fairways I've ever played. Plus, the price for them is a steal.
This amazing golf trip will feature:
-Four days of golf on four beautiful courses, Thursday through Sunday.
-A handicapped tournament format that will culminate with the “prestigious” GOLD Cup trophy.
-Cash prizes to keep things fun and interesting.
-A different side game and closest to the pin each day so there will be daily prizes available, even if you're out of the running for the overall tournament.
-A live leaderboard to follow the action using the Squabbit app.
Practical Logistics:
Participants will need to plan to arrive at Fairfield Glade (near Crossville, TN) by around noon on Thursday, April 24. It's about a 3.5 hour drive from Atlanta. We will golf that afternoon and then check into our condos that evening. Sunday morning, we will play an early round, present some awards, and then get you on the road by mid-afternoon.
In addition to golf, we will have plenty of time to connect with other like-minded men. Plan to share meals, relax outside our condos (corn hole, anyone?), and spend about 90 minutes each evening in an informal but directed small-group time where we will encourage one another in our roles as Christian men.
Answers to Common Questions:
Q. What is the price for the GOLD Cup?
A. The total price is $650/person, which includes 4 rounds of golf and 3 nights lodging. You are responsible for your own meals. There is a grocery store close by, as well as a few restaurants and delivery options. Many guys will eat lunch at the course. We will pitch in for pizza one night.
Q. Where do we stay?
A. The Wyndam condos are around 5 minutes from each golf course. They are 2-bedroom units with room for four. One room has 2 beds and the other has a King. There is also a sleeper sofa for person number 4. (You'll have to draw straws for that one.)
Q. What if I can’t make all four days of golf?
A. If you'd like to come but can't play all four days, you'll get a discount on the golf charge, but you won't be eligible to win the overall GOLD Cup — but we'd love to have you.
Q. What are the “prizes?”
A. We will ask each participant to chip in $50 cash for a prize pool that will be distributed to winners for daily competitions, as well as to the top six places in the 4-day GOLD Cup tournament.
Q. Can anyone come to the GOLD Cup?
A. We encourage you to invite your favorite foursome and share a condo. Participation is limited to men who enjoy golf and who are willing to sit down for 90 minutes each night in a small group (8 guys?) setting to sharpen one another in our faith journeys. Our goals for this trip are two-fold: to have an amazing time playing golf and to create a safe environment for Christian men to invite God to be more active in their lives.
Q. I live far away. How would I get there?
A. Plan to fly into Nashville (1.5 hour drive) or Knoxville (80 minute drive) on a flight that will get you to Fairfield Glade by noon on Thursday.
Q. What if I’m not sure what my handicap is?
A. Start tracking every round you play using an app like The Grint.
Q. How do I register?
A. Reserve your spot below with a $150 deposit. We will ask for the balance of $500 by February 20. (We are responsible for the total cost within 60 days, so we need full payment by then.) When you register, you will have a chance to request “roommates” for your condo and one cart partner that we will try to put you with the first three rounds. (Tee times for Sunday’s round are based upon tournament standings.)
Q. What about my other questions?
A. Email barrett@infoforfamilies.com and we will respond ASAP.
